Henry Emerson Merrill has arrived!

At 12:31 am on May 17, 2010 (at 41 wks and 1 day) Henry Emerson Merrill was born at Johns Hopkins Hospital in downtown Baltimore.  He was 6 lbs 7 oz and 19 inches and super cute:
As you can imagine Scott and I were super excited
We were back home on May 18th and have really enjoyed the help that Sarah, Drew and wonderful Kaylin have offered:
Until Friday we're chilling at home taking advantage of having support around to keep us sane and make us feel like this is all so easy.  So fun to have 6 people and a big dog in our 1 bedroom apartment :)  Hmmm....let's not think about what we'll do after Sarah Drew and Kaylin leave.

That was a hodge-podge of photos from these past few days - hope you enjoy!

Sheep and Wool Festival

Scott and I just spent the morning at the country's largest sheep and wool festival; the 37th Annual Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival to be exact. Somewhat random, right?  We went to explore the sheep and wool sub-culture and to purchase hand spun, naturally dyed yarn for future knitting projects.  Actually, we have a goal to start knitting Christmas stockings for all the little ones joining the family and were specifically looking for fun green and red yarn.  (Ha, I love that I say "we" will make stockings because I will be the one to make them but Scott is great at motivating me.)  We found some great stuff including yarn that is marbled with many shades of color.  We also enjoyed seeing some of the 42 breeds of sheep and goats on show.
I'm so glad we went early in the morning - traffic jams were piling up and the crowds were getting dense.  Hope your weekend is filled with sunshine but that the weather doesn't get too hot.
