A few snapshots

It has been quite a month indeed.  Scott was out of town the week after Eid and again last week and I spent one week in Gaibandha.  Elliot, and Pollobi, joined me on my first trip up to the Project after about 6 months.  It was great to be back up there after so long especially since it was an exciting week as we launched a new trial we've been planning for the past year.  It was a very very busy week which I was just not used to since it was also my first week back at work after maternity leave.  Since I had to pump while we were out in the field visiting households and field offices I was very glad I understood and am comfortable in the environment and culture here in Bangladesh. I'll just summarize by saying there were a number of memorable pumping episodes from that week. It was sad to not have Henry up there too but I decided that it just might be a bit too much to travel with the whole gang.

Highlights of how the boys are doing: Henry is still enjoying Jingle Bells school, is potty trained except for when he's sleeping (YAY!), still dotes on Elliot, sings all the time, loves playing his violin, and is trying to pick up some refined swimming skills in his weekly swimming class.  Elliot is a babbling machine, can't go 2 minutes without munching on his fingers, loves relaxing on someones lap, still LOVES sleeping, and is winning over all of us with his giggle.  This weekend he started rolling both from his tummy to his back and his back to his tummy.  With his new found skills he found it hard to fall asleep last night. After his third attempt to go to sleep Scott went in to check on him and found him wedged in a corner of the crib on his tummy even though we put him down on his back in the middle.  I guess the little guy is ready to be on the move!  Oh, and he also started grabbing for and hanging on to toys.  I just cannot believe that only 3.5 months ago Elliot was born. It feels like it's been more than 6 months since that day.    (I just realized I should update the stats on the blog which I'll try to do within the next few days.)

I also snapped a photo of the little 'fort' Pollobi built for Elliot to sleep.  He likes sleeping on his side, as I'm sure many babies do/would but most don't get the opportunity since they don't get propped up like this.

As for me and Scott, well, we're a pathetic pair.  Just as Scott was looking forward to getting properly pampered through his bout of giardia I heard my diagnosis...dengue hemorrhagic fever.  Now we understand why I felt bad last week and why I developed my skin 'rash'.  At least we're both past the thick of things and are confident we'll be fully recovered soon.  What a month....
