Dance dance dance

With the combo of dance class and Scott bringing back a fresh batch of "Hallmark" cards that play a song when opened, Henry is quite the dancing machine. The mear mention of the "d" word and he does his little shimmy.  I think he's just a wee bit too young to follow the activities at the dance class but he still enjoys being in the room and running around for the hour.  Happily, the instructor lets him crash the party even though it's supposed to be for kids who are 2 and older.

While Scott was in the US last week he hung out with his some of his extended family.  Henry's second cousin who is about the same age, oh so nicely gave Henry a snack bowl thing with a top that allows little hands to go in to grab a cracker but prevents the snacks from falling out on their own. At first Henry was scared of the high tech contraption probably wondering if his hand would get eaten up by it.  However, quite quickly he grasped the brilliance and became attached.  Within a matter of hours he decided he liked it more than his ball, regardless of whether there were snacks in it or not!  Thank you, Eloise.  I could put up a series of photos from the past week in which he's holding on to the cup/bowl just to prove the devotion, but I think this one captures the new relationship well.  Notice the ball getting no love.
In final Henry news, his first, and only so far, two 2 word sentences have both been in Bangla: "Kak koi?" (Where is the bird?) and "Dhud dao" ("Give me milk").  At first I started to wonder if he just wasn't listening to us but then Scott reminded me that we say those short phrases in Bangla too.  Maybe we should start focusing on speaking more English to him or else we'll be stuck in Bangladesh forever...

On another note, Scott and I finally organized and have now framed and hung photographs like we've wanted to do for over a year now.  Our walls had been a bit bare and were in need of some decoration.  We also bought a set of dinner ware. Now we can serve more than ourselves on matching plates and don't have to get creative with tupperware tops and cookie sheets when a guest to two dines with us.  Come on over!
