Going on a walk

As the monkeys are howling outside I thought I would write an entry.  We don't have too much to report...  We're all doing fine. Henry is practicing his crawling and is now able to move around without sticking his butt so high up in the air.  He is enjoying the thrill of putting everything in his mouth and getting people to give him more attention because of his big smile.  Today we went on a afternoon walk and took some photos. In the morning we went on a longer walk using the Ergo that hides Henry more so he didn't elicit as many reactions; how boring.  I actually haven't taken photos in what feels like forever but was probably only a week.

This last photo is a random one from half way through the walk just to give you an idea of our fairly fancy neighborhood. The wide streets with fairly minimal traffic is a sign of the fanciness.

Painters are coming tomorrow to paint Henry's room and set the date for when they'll paint the rest of the house. We already have the mosquito net for Henry's crib set up in his new room.  All we need now is his crib and other stuff from our shipment that we sent from Baltimore on Aug 3.  We know that the shipment is in Dhaka, and has been for at least a week, but we probably have to wait for the 96th signature to be collected before we'll get it.

Luckily the power supply has been more steady in the past few days.  About a week ago there was a heat wave resulting in increased electricity use across the city.  The consequence of all the fans running was a dramatic increase in load shedding. On a normal day in October the power may go out 2 times for ~1 hour each but during that heat wave the power went out (I recorded it for 2 days and both days had the same pattern) from: 8 - 8:53 am, 9:45 - 10:51, 11:47 - 12:45pm, 1:53 - 2:46, 4:48 - 5:50, 8 - 8:46,.and at least one more time in the middle of the night.  AHHH!  At least the building generator powers a fan and light in every room, but it still get hot.

Until next time...
PS - My friend Christine Yamokoski had her baby boy on Oct 14th - Luke Robert Yamokoski was super healthy at 6 lbs 14 oz, 19 in!!!  I can't wait to meet him :)
